August Hopefuls!
Every month I seem to schedule the books I plan to read. However, I am completely useless at sticking to my schedule mainly because I buy new books that move to the top of my TBR! Honestly, at this point, books on my shelves must be sick of being demoted down the priority reading list.
Although, there are a few books that I'd definitely like to read this month:
BLOOD & HONEY BY SHELBY MAURIN
I read Serpent & Dove a while back with my Bookstagram book club (hi there, The Illyrian Girls) and I really enjoyed it. I pretty much immediately bought Blood & Honey but somehow I just haven't got round to reading it! I also pre-ordered Gods & Monsters and since it'll likely be delivered this week, I should probably read book two first!
A THREAT TO REMAIN BY FRANCES ALLEN
This is book three in the Aster prequel series and I am so so excited for this one! A World to Lose (book two) ended on a HUGE cliff-hanger (as in 'I'm not sure if a character is dead or alive' huge). I am so grateful to have been part of the publication journey with Frances and I encourage everyone to try these books! 100% book that anyone would enjoy!
THE BRIDGE KINGDOM BY DANIELLE L. JENSEN
As I mentioned above, I am part of a book club where we read a few books a month together. We all seem to have become lost in the chaos of life recently and haven't done a group read in two months! We're hoping to do a duology read of The Bridge Kingdom and The Traitor Queen this month! Looking forward to reading with these girls again!
THESE HOLLOW VOWS BY LEXI RYAN
So I came across this book on NetGalley back when I first made my Bookstagram page, but my review request was denied and I was so upset (I think it may have been the first ARC I ever requested and I was gutted I didn't get it). Naturally, I decided to pre-order it instead and I've got to say, I'm kind of glad that I got a hardcover rather than a digital ARC as the cover is stunning!! Honestly one of my favourite covers- I'm just hoping the book is as good as the cover!
Fingers-crossed that this month is a productive reading month!! I also finish my degree this month so I'm planning for a reading marathon! Stay posted for updates and to get involved!
