Get to know me!

Hello everyone! I've wanted to make a blog for ages and I finally decided it was time! For those of you who have found me through my Instagram page, you rock, and for those who are new to me and my bookish ramblings, welcome!

I thought a good place to start on here would be to do a little 'get to know me' post so that I'm not just some words on a screen!

As you may have gathered from my blog so far, I like to read. A LOT. I mainly read fantasy and sci-fi but with a good sales pitch, I pretty much read anything. I started reading pretty young and I distinctly remember always having a book on the go as a child. However, when I started my GCSEs, I pretty much stopped reading. Then through my A-Levels, still didn't read. Skip ahead to year 3 of my undergraduate degree, and I finally picked up a book again. From that moment onwards, I've completely re-discovered my love for reading. So much so that in October 2020, I started a Bookstagram (Book-Instagram for those who are unaware) where I just posted a few photos of my books, but I mainly used the account to follow other readers and admire their photos and reviews. Somehow, people started to enjoy my photos and my random book conversations with myself in the captions and my followers started to grow. I had lots of people messaging me for reviews on books I'd posted so I started writing a few reviews here and there. This proved pretty popular and suddenly, authors were messaging me for reviews and from there my reviewing hobby took off. I now review several books a month in collaborations with authors and publishers and I adore it. There's something so satisfying in being part of a book publication from the early ARC stage to seeing people buy the book and watching it grow. So here I am now beginning my blog to share longer reviews and save my followers the long rants on Instagram by popping them on here where you can find them if you're interested!

I'm going to end this post here as you're probably bored by now! Maybe I'll post a part 2 and introduce you to my life away from books (although that's most definitely more boring)!
