Reading Marathon: 11th-18th August!!

Now that I have completed all of the components of my Master's degree, I think it's time for some reading-filled days! In order to share this huge achievement with you, my followers and subscribers, I have decided to host a week-long reading marathon! Here's how it works:

Below is a template of 4 prompts developed for the marathon. To participate, all you have to do is read a book that fits the prompt during the allotted week and post it to your Instagram story using the template! If you are interested, please message me on Bookstagram (@book.x.butterfly) or fill in the form below!! I will make a group chat! I will include some books for each prompt for examples if you're struggling!

1. Screenshot the following:

2. Decide which books you want to read to fulfill each prompt!

3. Once you have completed a book, post the template with the book cover to your Instagram story and tag me: @book.x.butterfly

Here's an example:

4. Continue to read as many books as you like/can!

There will not be a prize or leaderboard - this is just a bit of fun! There will be a group chat though and I might interview a few of you if you're up for it, to feature on my blog!!!

As promised: here's a little bit of help for each prompt! These are in no way the books you have to read but they might help if you're stuck for ideas:

A book with less than 200 pages:

  • How the King of Elfhame came to Hate Stories - by Holly Black

  • A Queen to Come - by Frances Ellen

  • The Bad Beginning - by Lemony Snicket

  • Before Crown and Kingdom - by Melissa Wright

A book with a publication date in 2021

  • Chosen to Fall - by Emmie Hamilton

  • These Hollow Vows - by Lexi Ryan

  • The Wyndshaper - by Kate Argus

  • Gods & Serpents - by Shelby Maurin

A book of a different genre to your usual reads (obviously this is a very individualized prompt! My Bookstagram is predominantly fantasy so I will provide alternatives to fantasy! Please message if you need more help for this prompt!)

  • The Tattooist of Auschwitz - by Heather Morris

  • The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - by Taylor Jenkins Reid

  • The Lucifer Effect (non-fiction psychology book) - by Philip Zimbardo

  • The Fault in Our Stars - by John Green

A book that retells a classic tale

  • A Curse so Dark and Lonely (Beauty and the Beast) - by Brigid Kemmerer

  • Malice (sleeping beauty) - by Heather Walter

  • Heartless (Alice in Wonderland) - Melissa Meyer

  • The Wrath and The Dawn (Arabian Nights) - Renée Ahdieh
